Front desk guide to the WrestlingIQ Kiosk

If you are working the front desk for a wrestling club, there are a few important things to remember about WrestlingIQ.

WIQ is designed for parents to sign up on their own devices (not a shared computer)

WrestlingIQ's registration process is mobile-optimized and easy to do on phone browsers. Unlike other systems, we do not recommend that you use a shared computer at the front desk. If someone is logged into a WrestlingIQ account, and you use that account to sign up another parent/wrestler without logging out, their membership will be billed to the originally logged in account.

Instead, we recommend that you keep a printed QR code handy with your team's registration url for them to quickly scan. Not sure how to make a QR code or front desk flyer? Email support@wrestlingiq.com and we will make you one for free!

Checking wrestlers in with the WIQ Kiosk

Your club admin should assist with setting up the WrestlingIQ Kiosk on a tablet near the front desk.

Checking wrestlers in to practice

The daily ritual for using the Kiosk goes like this:

  1. Reload the kiosk to pull in all practices scheduled in the next 24 hours.
  2. Tap the name of the practice/event you are checking wrestler into.
  3. Either check wrestlers in by name yourself or allow wrestlers to type their own name into the Kiosk to check in to practice.
  4. You can go back to the event selection screen by tapping the calendar icon with the x in it (near the gear icon).
  5. (optional) If you want to speed up the check in process, you can use a Bluetooth scanner with the Kiosk.

How do I know if someone has paid (or is allowed in) when they check-in?

In order to get 'paid' filtering in the Kiosk, you need to first make sure you link your practice to the appropriate rosters (if you are a recurring billing / membership based club, it's a good idea to create an 'Active members' roster that auto-syncs with payments). Once rosters are linked to calendar events, the Kiosk will automatically apply a filter to check-ins for that event so that only wrestlers who are on that particular roster can be found:

Once you have the filters in place, this means that anyone who can't be found for check-ins has a problem with their account.

In other words, that moment when the wrestler can't check in is when you reach out to the parent to make sure they have registered for the proper season or membership. If you have access to a WrestlingIQ admin account, feel free to search for the parent or wrestler name. Both parent and wrestler records have a 'Payments' tab on them, where you can verify what they have signed up for before reaching out to the parent/guardian:
