Full Season Registrations
If you run traditional seasons—such as folkstyle in the fall/winter and freestyle in the spring—this article will show you how to set the price points you offer so you can promote your season registration online.
First, create a new registration session as seen below.
This article will walk through a Full Season type registration.
Setting up the registration
There is a lot to unpack here, but the creation of your next season's registration is all contained on this form. A few tips:
- When you create a new registration or membership you can choose to have a roster automatically created. We highly recommend you keep this box checked, so that any wrestler who registers for your session will automatically be added to the appropriate roster. If you run different age groups (e.g. K-8th and 9th to 12th), it makes sense to open up two registrations, one for each group, so you can message and manage them separately in WrestlingIQ.
- Filling out a welcome email is highly encouraged, especially if you have beginner wrestlers. Creating an automatic welcome email for when parents register their kids is an easy way to deliver basic information and answer FAQs that may arise.
- Registration will automatically close if you uncheck the 'Is registration open?' box or if the end date of the session has passed.
Upfront payment vs installments
In the screenshot above, I configured two separate tiers that parents can pay. One is an upfront payment, which looks like this:
The installment plan set up looks like this:
Tip: if you set the first installment date to a date that has already passed, parents will be charged that first installment at the time of check out.
Installments let you define when money should be charged to registrants, which helps spread the financial burden across the season for families. If you want to read more about installment plans, and what that looks like when parents are registering, read more here.
Promoting your registration
Each session you set up comes with a url you can send out via email, social media, or post on your website that will let people jump directly into registering for that specific session.
Your team also has a generic registration url that will remain constant, but show all of your currently open registrations. This is commonly used for team websites, with generic 'Register now' buttons, so that you do not have to update your website every time you post a new registration.
