Creating a calendar event

The calendar feature in WrestlingIQ allows for easy communication of schedules and events for members of your team. Events can be tagged to specific rosters to allow parents to easily keep track of their athletes schedules. Other features like attendance, practice planning, and calendar based registrations can be utilized once events are added to a team calendar. Parents will have direct access to the calendar through their WrestlingIQ app. Here is some information and best practices on using the WrestlingIQ calendar:

Creating a new event

Create a new calendar event by locating the 'Calendar' tab on the side menu and selecting the '+' button above the calendar.

Add event information

Here are some important things to keep in mind when creating an event:

  1. Utilize the Date & Time feature to create repeating events through a given date.
  2. Color coding can help keep your team organized.
  3. Linking Roster(s) will come in handy when using the attendance feature - these rosters will be used to generate the attendance list for the event/practice.
  4. Linking a registration can be beneficial when sharing your team calendar - by linking a registration parents can easily register for a session by simply toggling over the event.
  5. USE THE NOTES SECTION! This is a great place to answer any FAQs that may come for a given event or practice. This can help minimize the number of messages coming to your inbox before a practice or event.
    1. Parent questions to consider: What do I need to bring? Can I stay and watch my kid? When does the bus leave? How do I get to the venue? Is there a schedule I should know? Who do I message if I can't make practice?

To edit an event, click on the specific event and select the 'Edit' button

Apply any edits and save changes

Changes can be applied to a single event or for all future events for a repeating event (like practices). When changes are saved there will be an option to notify associated rosters.

Share and view your public calendar

Note: Parents will have direct access to the calendar through their WrestlingIQ app.
