How to setup a scholarship code

A scholarship code can be used like a coupon by designated individuals with the code. Scholarship codes can be applied to any registration or payment (such as an online store). They do not need to be recreated for each individual season. If you are a coach or admin of your team's WrestlingIQ account, you will be able to view scholarship codes by clicking under the 'Payments' tab. To create a new scholarship select the '+ Code' button in the upper right hand corner.

When creating a scholarship code there are three discount types that can be used

  • Percent off: Applies a percentage discount to the total amount.
  • Amount off: Subtracts a fixed amount from the total.
  • Flat rate: Sets a fixed price for the registration, regardless of original cost. I.e. $20 flat rate coupon will set the price to $20. This is per wrestler, so if a parent is registering two kids, they will pay $40. Flat rate does not apply to anything except registrations and does not work with recurring subscriptions.

Another important note is that if you are using installment plans for your full session registrations, coupons are applied to every invoice.

For example: If you have a setup where parents pay $100/month for three months, applying a $25 off coupon will bring the invoices down to $75/month for all three months.

The last step is to distribute the scholarship out to the appropriate parties. They will then be able to apply this scholarship at the time of payment, whether that is at registration.

Or at the online store checkout:

When and how coupons are being used can be monitored by viewing the financial feed under 'Payments' -> 'Dashboard'. Here you will be able to see when coupons are used, what they are used for, and who the payment was billed to.
