Creating bag tags for WIQ ID cards

Customized ID cards are one way that athletes can scan into practice using the WrestlingIQ Kiosk.

NOTE: This article is based on the process used by one of our WrestlingIQ teams, Levici Prep. There are many ways that bag tags could be created. This article is a suggestion guide for any team interested in creating similar products.

Bag tags customized with individual athletes WrestlingIQ ID card (athlete name covered for privacy)

This is a suggestion for a process that could be used to create the ID cards:

Note: The process does not have to be this tedious. This is a suggestion for creating tags that were intended to dually serve as a marketing tool through visuals.
  1. Design custom format on Canva (or another design tool) for front and back of bag tag leaving an open slot for the QR code.
    • Tip: Use a mostly white card with branding colors in the design to limit the amount of ink used on each card.
  2. Download the WIQ ID card for each wrestler,
  3. Crop the QR code and upload to canva. Add the correct name for the associated wrestler.
  4. Export canva file as a png.
  5. Insert png to 'Blank Portrait Card' template downloaded from Magicard.
  6. Print card (front and back images attached). It takes probably ~20 seconds per side to print
  7. Punch hole and add strap.
