What's the difference between a scholarship code and a coupon code?

If you have run other online payment systems you've probably heard of discounts referred to as coupon codes. Scholarship codes and coupon codes are functionally the same thing. You as a coach or admin create scholarship codes in order to give specific people the ability to receive a discount on their registration, before they pay. 

I've chosen 'scholarship code' as the way to refer to these so that people aren't hunting for a deal. Funds are usually tight in clubs I've helped out with in the past, so I am hoping to portray that as a club team, scholarships are handed out to those who need it to participate.
