Can I add service taxes to my registrations?

In some states wrestling teams need to be collecting service taxes (which is distinct from sales taxes). For example, Hawaii has a General Excise Tax. If you would like a service tax rate set please email support@wrestlingiq.com with the tax rate you want to apply.

Once applied, taxes will show up as a separate line item added to the customer bill for all registrations. Here is an example of what a customer might see with a 4.5% fee configured:

WrestlingIQ is not involved in financial or tax advice, nor remitting the taxes. The taxes are simply added to the customer's bill and will be sent to your bank account like all other money you collect. You are responsible for remitting the taxes to your local authority.

Exclusions & gotchas with service taxes

Only for registrations (season, camp, recurring subscription, drop in, or 'other')

This tax applies only to registrations and does not get added to fundraisers, the online donation form, one off invoices (you can manually add it in to these), or online store sales.

Net calculation vs deposits to your bank

When we calculate your revenue on your dashboard and in reports we subtract the tax from the gross to give you a true net for the business.

However, because you are in charge of actually remitting the tax, you will receive more money to your bank account than WIQ shows in the net column. We made this choice because we want WIQ to be a reflection of what is actually happening in your business, but don't be surprised to see the tax money being deposited into your bank account before you remit it.
